Skype, specifically Skype for Business, is a conference, telephone, and chatting app available on multiple devices. Despite this, there’s a smaller limit to how many individuals can connect at one time to Adobe Connect. Alongside this, the app also offers co-browsing and breakout rooms. Adobe Connect, Skype, and Zoom all are alternatives to Microsoft Teams.Īdobe Connect offers much of the same as Microsoft Teams but at a monthly or annual cost. There’s a Microsoft Teams (mac) for Microsoft Teams as online platforms for conferencing grow in popularity. This detracts from the app’s value since the presence of breakout rooms is a requirement in many educational platforms and is a preference in some business platforms. Teams don’t have co-browsing or breakout room functionality, meaning that users cannot be placed in separate rooms or share a browser window remotely.

Microsoft Teams, while massive, lacks micro-management potential due to a few features it misses. As a bonus feature, users can also customize their backgrounds. The sheer scale of Microsoft Teams sets it apart from the competition and allows for it to be useful to both small businesses and massive corporate structures. The app can host up to 10,000 individuals, and potentially up to 250 individuals with the free version of the software. The video conference feature of the app allows for communicating face to face with team members as well. These options make it ideal for business or educational environments. Hoping a fix or workaround shows up soon as it is frustrating to have to work this way.Microsoft Teams allows users to create teams, channels, and conferences to chat with team members that are online. Same issues, works in everything but teams and skype for business desktop apps. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the camera apps and teams/skype, I've also tried resetting the System Management Controller (SMC). I've tried multiple ways of connecting the camera, tested other cameras. I tested zoom and the browser version of teams and it does recognize the cameras, so to get it to work i have to use teams through the browser to have a video call. Skype for business also will not recognize the camera either. I have teams authorized to use the camera in my security and privacy settings so that has not helped. It was working in teams prior to a Catalina update, so unsure if it's related. I have my laptop closed when connected to my monitor so using the built in camera isn't a good option so i've been using a smartphone as my camera. Run into this issue as well with the teams app not recognizing my camera anymore.
